1. Follow 123 about 1.7 miles and turn
left onto Hampton Road.
2. Go about 1/2 mile on Hampton Road and turn left on Van Thompson Road
(you will see power lines ahead just in front of you).
3. After about 1/4 mile, Van Thompson bears sharply to the left at a
well-weathered barn and continues down a hill to the entrance to Sandy
Run Park

1. From the I-295 by-pass around Richmond take I95 North. exit (# 43)
towards Washington and merge onto I-95 N - 74.9 miles
2. Take the VA-123 N exit, exit number 160B, towards OCCOQUAN/LAKE
RIDGE - 0.3 miles
3. Merge onto VA-123 N/Gordon Blvd - 1.1 miles
4. VA-123 N/Gordon Blvd becomes Ox Rd/VA-123 - 3.0 miles
5. Turn Left onto Hampton Rd/VA-647 - 0.9 miles
6. Turn Slight Left onto Van Thompson Rd. - 0.1 miles

Lakewood
Park
Norfolk, Virginia 23509
The park is located on Willow Wood Drive
and can be reached from either Tidewater Drive or Granby Street.
Boathouse is in the rear of the park.
Please don’t park on the grass.
Best spectator spot is on Mayflower Avenue in Colonial Place.
No parking fees.
6700 Azalea Garden Road

1. From I - 64, take exit 279 - Norview
Avenue.
2. Follow Norview for one mile and turn left on to Azalea Garden Road.
3. The Garden entrance is on the right just past the entrance to the
airport.
There is a parking fee at the guardhouse.
The dock at Lake Whitehurst is at the edge of the first parking lot
just behind the guardhouse, but no private vehicles may park
there.
Continue down the road and left into the parking lot near the
Administration Building.
Williams Wharf, Mathews County
1. Take 64 to Route 17(J. Clyde Morris
Blvd Exit) You will cross over the Coleman Bridge.
(Toll there is $2.00)
2. Follow Route 17 North through Gloucester County.
3. Turn right on Route 17 Business at intersection with Super WalMart
on far left of intersection.
4. Turn right onto Route 14 at the first stoplight.
5. Follow Route 14 until you reach a stop sign (about 12 miles).
6. Turn right onto Route 14/Route 198.
7. Stop at the first stop sign.
8. Turn right again (There will be a Hardee's here).
9. Drive about 2 miles and turn right on Route 614. Follow to the end
of Williams Wharf.
There will be parking in an open field on the left before you get to
the Wharf for families.
There is a parking fee and a shuttle bus run the rowers and parents in
to the regatta area.
Travel time 1.5 – 2 hours.

Landing
Enter First Landing State Park at 64th Street entrance from Atlantic
Avenue.
Continue to boat ramp parking.
No parking fees.
